Larry Franco

Volendo fare una sintesi della sua carriera musicale nei cinque Philology Years, non si può non sottolineare come Larry canti - e suoni - in Italiano e in Inglese perfetto, in diversi stili, quasi a voler dimostrare che per lui la Musica è una sola, grande ed universale, un lungo fertile fiume che si arricchisce di tanti affluenti prima di sfociare nell'Oceano del jazz: è così che l'hard bop del quartetto Import Export (W607) convive con il dixieland della Jazz Society (W362), lo swing del Jazz Trio di Dado Moroni, Ira Coleman e Jimmy Cobb in Introducing (W 718), il raffinato connubio di piano e voce in Two In One (W361), il suggestivo mainstream dell'Italian Jazz Ensemble" (W730)... il tutto all'insegna della qualità e del divertimento... riflettendoci... non è una cosa che abbiano fatto (e sappiano fare) in tanti... ci voleva proprio lui, LARRY FRANCO "The Italian Crooner", l'uomo nuovo del canto jazz nel nostro bellissimo (ed artisticissimo) paese. If we try to synthetize his musical career during the five Philology years, we absolutely have to underline how Larry sings and plays in Italian and perfect English, in different styles, showing that to him music is only one, great and universal; a long and fertile river which gets rich of many affluents before flowing into the Ocean of jazz. That’s how hard bop of Import Export quartet (W607) lives together with dixieland of Jazz Society (W362), the swing of Dado Moroni, Ira Coleman and Jimmy Cobb Jazz Trio in Introducing (W718), the refined union of piano and voice in Two In One (W361), the impressive mainstream of Italian Jazz Ensemble (W730)… all in the name of quality and fun: an unusual thing - think it over !
